ALASKA & CANADIAN ROCKIES 2017

Linda and I have had a desire to travel and RV in Alaska since the 1970s and we finally began our journey at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, May 3rd, 2017.  The first day we traveled approximately 221 miles and stayed overnight at the Texas T campground off I-65 at Cornersville, Tn.   We had rain that first night and it continued to rain all day the next day as we traveled to East St. Louis, Ill.  We arrived at 4pm at the Casino Queen RV park. The Location was great as you can see in the picture below. The area had lots of rain and much of the St. Louis area was flooded but we had no problem.

MAY 5-The following day we traveled to Odessa, Mo.  We got a late start this morning and had to stop and buy fuel,  I had not purchased any fuel since we left and had traveled half the distance to the Canadian Border,  We should arrive in Fargo, ND in two days.

MAY 6-We left Odessa at 9 am and got a full day of travel today covering almost 400 miles driving through Kansas City, Mo, St Joseph, Mo, Sioux City Iowa and finally arriving at Sioux Falls, SD about 4 pm..  We are staying at the Tower Campground which is next to I-29.  The drive today was magnificent.  Everytime I travel, I realize that we are still an Agrian Nation and we are truly the breadbasket for the rest of the world.  There is so much beautiful farmland that goes across state lines for miles and miles

Cross Point Church
Since it was Sunday (May 7) we decided that we would find a local church to attend.  Linda's research found a local Southern Baptist affiliated church near the Tower Campground.   Since we were about to leave the USA, we decided to have breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, thinking it would be the last cracker barrel on our travels to Alaska.  We then went to the Cross Point Church.

The young preacher gave an excellent message from Hebrews 9:1-22,  the old vs the new covenant.

After the service we drove to Falls Park where the Sioux River runs through the town of Sioux Falls.  After arriving, we saw where the town got its name as the pictures depict.  we then went to lunch at Five Guys.  At 2 pm we pulled out of Sioux Falls continuing to head north to the Canadian border.  At 6:30 pm, after driving 317 miles, we arrived in Grand Forks, ND
